Psoas Stretch
At Elevate, we love this stretch because we feel that it targets the psoas most effectively. We place the femur in an internally rotated position, abducted position, and an extended position. All these actions of the femur are opposite of what the psoas muscle does. At the trunk level, the psoas ipsilaterally flexes and contralaterally rotates the spine. This is why we ipsilaterally rotate and contralaterally side bend the spine.
